  • Koby is a 1-year-old male domestic shorthair cat who is full of personality. He is affectionate and always ready for fun and games.   • Big Kern County pet rescue is a load for animal shelter

  • More than 200 animals rescued from a Kern County home earlier this month are straining the Sacramento SPCA's staff and resources, a spokeswoman said Monday.

    Cages of small dogs, mostly Chihuahuas, fill the Sacramento County SPCA shelter after a recent rescue from a Kern County home. The animals are available for adoption, though some still need medical care.
